Rebecca Price, Founder and President/CEO
Rebecca Price is a curator and museum professional with over fifteen years of experience in nonprofit programming, administration, and strategic communications and marketing. Most recently she was the Director of Membership Development, Communications, and Marketing for the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH). She has worked at the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and several historic homes and museums. Rebecca received her Masters of Arts in Museum Studies with a concentration in Art History from George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Italian Studies from the University of Memphis. She currently serves on the board of the Tennessee Association of Museums; as founding Co-Chair of the Women’s History Affinity Group at AASLH; and is a member of the Women’s Heritage Trails Committee for the National Collaborative for Women’s Historic Sites.

Knight Stivender, Vice President
Knight Stivender is a Pulitzer-heralded journalist with executive experience in publishing; content strategy; digital marketing; and audience, brand and product development. During her 20-year career in storytelling, brand development and customer engagement, Knight co-founded Gannett’s 12th & Broad, a new media brand catering to Nashville’s creative community, and was honored with the Fortune 500 company’s Innovator of the Year award for her work. She is the Director of Integrated Marketing at McNeely Pigott & Fox, a public relations firm based in Nashville. She is also co-founder / CEO of Girls To The Moon – an interactive “campference” and digital magazine inspiring young girls to be compassionate and courageous community leaders.

Sanjana Ballal, Secretary
Sanjana Ballal was born and raised in Staten Island, New York. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the George Washington University. After graduating from GW, Sanjana joined the Teach for America 2007 Greater New Orleans Corps. She lived and taught in New Orleans for the next 3 years. She moved to Nashville in the summer of 2010 to attend the Human Development Counseling program at Vanderbilt University. After receiving her Masters in Education in 2012, Sanjana joined Cameron College Prep, the first zoned charter school of LEAD Public Schools and in Nashville, as their school counselor. Currently, she is the Managing Director, Teacher Leadership Development for Teach for America. She volunteers as a board member with the Davidson County Juvenile Court’s Foster Care Review Board and is an active member in Bunts Association of North America.

Jenny Alexander, Treasurer
Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Jenny Alexander has seventeen years of development experience working in a variety of nonprofit settings. She is currently the Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Prior to that she was the Senior Development Director for OZ Arts Nashville, where she oversees all fundraising activities including membership, annual giving, sponsorship, and grants. She was Director of Development for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, where she managed annual fundraising programs during the Museum’s $100 million capital campaign. Before moving to Nashville, Alexander was the Assistant Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the University of Georgia. She also held development positions in Washington, D.C. at the National Building Museum, the Smithsonian Institution, and Population Services International, an international public health NGO. Alexander holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Virginia.

Barbara Scales, Board Member
Barbara Scales serves as the Director of the June Anderson Center for Women and Nontraditional Students at Middle Tennessee State University, and has 19 years of social welfare and adult learning experience. In efforts to educate the community Barbara offers programming during National Women’s History Month; Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and Walk A Mile in Her Shoes – where Barbara partners with the Interfraternity Council for Men on campus and every year over a hundred men walk a mile in heels for sexual assault awareness; Domestic Violence awareness, and Equal Pay for Women. She serves on many committees and is active in her local church.
